Hi Darrel, Good to hear you like my Ning format. I am not sure all the colors work together, but one thing nice about Nining is that it is fluid and you can change and add things. Give it a try.

Ruth, You say that Nining is new to you, but you seem to have a pretty good handle on things. By the way, ice fishing is fun, it is not "almost" fun. Lol. I like how you set up your Ning. Mine is a bit loud and messy. Oh well, live and learn.

Hi Ruth, Ning is a great way to connect students and staff. I've never tried using it for a specific class or topic but there is always time to try it out.

How do you use Web 2.0 Tools to increase learning in science?

There are lots of web 2.0 tools and resources and some specifically for science.
Since I teach science, this is always of interest to me. One resource I have found is virtual courseware
They have online interactive activities for Earth Science and Biology. I have used the Drosophila activity to help students understand basic genetics. It is inquiry-based and students even have an online lab notebook.
